Before coming to Canada in 2003, Sabine Alpers studied Culture Management and Design in Potsdam. She worked as a program assistant for Germany media arts festival Transmediale and organized and participated in several exhibitions and events experimenting with intervention of public and private space, through new media and food.

In 2003 she moved to Victoria BC, where she organized numerous culture and community events and started to experiment with felt. Since 2006, she lives in Montreal and in 2010 she graduated in in Textile Construction at the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles. During the winter months she works on her artistic projects and her line of textile accessories while during the summer she farms and organizes community events. Her passion is connecting people through food, art and nature.
